THISTLE HOUSE

I used to take long walks around a nearby lake when I lived in Nebraska, and I always loved how quietly the tall thistles would sway back and forth in the breeze, and how the bees would stay affixed to their pink-purple blooms, unaware that I was observing them. This design was inspired by those walks, and although the model was made into a pocket (brief finishing instructions are included) it would also be perfect as a pincushion or framed piece. I love the color palette of soft sage, gray, pink, and white. There are no bees, but the woman holding her thistle plant does have a beehive hairdo, so I’m guessing that’s where the bees are resting. ?
